Venetia: I've read 10%.

Venetia - Georgette Heyer

"She had not enjoyed being so ruthlessly handled, but for one crazy instant she had known an impulse to respond...

...Not, of course, that she wished to be mauled by strangers. But if Edward had ever kissed her thus!"

Those sentences are why I have eschewed the Romance category as a whole. We don't have kids, so that all is hypothetical, but hypothetically speaking, I wouldn't let my daughter read something as insidious as that. The Idea that being almost raped [I left out a lot of context and other stuff] was exciting and exhilarating and was GOOD  because of a boring life, is anathema to me.

If that kind of thinking is going to persist in this book, I foresee a very tough read ahead.
